Kent Student Law Review

The Kent Student Law Review (KSLR) was established in 2013 by founding Editors-in-Chief, Nico Mesiainen and Ayda Tabrizi, with the support of Harley Ronan, President of the Kent Critical Law Society.

We seek to publish theoretically informed critical legal scholarship that situates law in society, completed by the best students and subjected to peer review by students and academics. Our aim is to provide students with the opportunity to enter the world of academia and publishing whilst at undergraduate level, and to support the postgraduate community by affording them the opportunity to have their work published. Finally, we feel that the work produced by some undergraduates is of such an exceptional quality that it requires recognition and celebration.

The Kent Student Law Review is in such a position to show the legal community the unique, diverse and intellectual stimulation that the University of Kent provides, which sets us apart from the vast majority of black letter institutions across the country.

Submissions deadline and type of papers:

Submissions deadline: normally by the end of January.

Categories of publication (multidisciplinary)

  • Articles
  • Case comments
  • Book reviews

Length

  • Articles should be between 3,000 and 10,000 words. Any articles which exceed this word limit will be considered on their merit.
  • Case comments should not exceed 3,000 words.
  • Book reviews should not exceed 3,000 words.

Audience: Kent students/alumni have a priority when we consider articles for publication. Consideration for publication can be given to non-Kent students if appropriate (Editorial Board case-by-case analysis).
